Mosaics is the art of placing broken glass or title into patterns and compositions. Mosaics has developed into quite an art form today, used in everything from small artwork to large scale public pieces. Mosaics can be placed onto an existing structure, or a structure can be created specifically for your mosaic piece. Mosaics can be utilized on functional and sculptural work, and in this class, we will cover what materials to use, and how to go about designing and creating your own mosaic piece. Students will also have the option to pick their own concrete stepping stone for their mosaic. Students are encouraged to pack a lunch, or to go get one during class.
