Advanced Settings and Techniques

This class will take your digital camera photography to a higher level of understanding the equipment. You will learn advanced settings and techniques to improve and capture the images you desire. Students must have some experience with using their camera or have taken a class with Roger before.
We will examine:
- The relationship between exposure, ISO, and exposure compensation
- Creative use of white balance
- How color space and file types affect web postings and print making
- Night photography, moon and milky way exposures
- How and when to use flash creatively
- Studio photography
The Class will explore advanced functions like: Bracketing, HDR photography, focus settings and Histograms. You will learn about lens and filter options and how they work for different styles of photography. Finally you will learn some basics in image editing and organization through computer programs.
Please show up with your camera ready to go: battery charged, memory card in and camera manual in tow. And most of all, prepare to have fun.
Roger concentrates on the total photo experience- what he calls the “Zen of Photography”. How to capture the beauty, emotion or humor that makes up your everyday life. The photo process includes knowledge of your camera, finding interesting subjects and lighting. Learn how to train your mind to find and frame the perfect photo.

*Pre-registration is required for Art School classes; classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Students will be registered ONLY on receipt of payment. Enrollment requirements for all classes: 3 students minimum. Classes with low enrollment are cancelled 48 hours before the class is scheduled to begin.
* Refunds and Cancellation Policies: If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, a full refund will be issued. Refunds or class credit will not be issued for any other reason than cancellation of a class due to low enrollment.
