Block Party: Intro to Printmaking with Sarah Windisch

Saturday, October 25, 1-4 p.m.

$40, includes all materials and instruction

Forget boring, perfect prints: this workshop is all about carving your own mark (literally!). In three hours, artist and educator Sarah Windisch will guide you through the wild world of block printing. You’ll learn how to safely carve, ink, and pull bold, one-of-a-kind prints that are vibrant, expressive, and entirely yours.

No experience needed, just a willingness to get inky. By the end, you’ll walk out with your own carved block and a stack of prints that look nothing like something from a store – and that’s the point. All tools and materials provided. Just bring your ideas, your hands, and maybe a shirt you don’t mind staining.

Meet Your Instructor

Sarah Windisch is a printmaker, teaching artist, and recovering band director who believes art should be accessible, rebellious, and a little bit feral. Her work collides folklore, nature, and pop culture with a DIY, punk-rock spirit – think hand-carved marmots, riotous sticker packs, and unapologetically bold prints.

After two decades teaching music, Sarah shifted her focus to visual art, bringing the same mix of humor, patience, and “let’s just try it” energy to the print studio. She’s less about pristine technique and more about giving people permission to play, experiment, and make work that feels raw, real, and alive.
