“Then and Now”

February 7 – 28, 2025

Opening reception Friday, February 7th, 5 – 8pm

This exhibition revisits a theme that has been central to Kaiser’s artistic journey: the clotheslines of her childhood. Karen Kaiser has a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree, and has had a number of exhibits.

Artist Statement

I have had a long fascination with clotheslines since my childhood when I would paint with watercolors on sheets my mother had hung in the back yard. My MFA show in 2001 consisted of many water colored sheets the included text and cast shadows of tree branches. My exhibition consists of a revisit to those clotheslines and sheets and includes several oil on canvas and oil on paper with charcoal drawings.
