BIOGRAPHY: Born in Colfax, Washington, Bill grew up in the rolling hills and wheat fields of the Palouse country. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Washington State University and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois. Following military
service, Bill worked for the architectural office of Brooks Hensley Creager in Spokane and later the architectural firm of Collins Woerman in Seattle, Washington, retiring and moving back to Spokane in 2017 where he currently resides.
ARTIST STATEMENT: From an early age, drawing has always been very enjoyable. A challenge has been to communicate a story or emotion
through a single image. Working with the freshness, spontaneity and transparency of watercolor medium is both daunting and rewarding. Simply stated, I love the interaction of brush, paper, pigment and water together to create that story or emotion in the viewer’s mind.
